At the same time, volatile electricity prices on the market reflect the increasing demand for flexible generation and consumption. These can also be seen in the intraday auction market (IDA) and intraday continuous trading (IDC), where the price spreads between the individual trading times continue to increase.<\/p><p>The expansion of photovoltaics and wind power is reinforcing this trend: with around 16 GW of newly installed PV capacity in 2024 alone, record levels have been reached. This is leading to increasingly frequent situations with surplus generation, especially on sunny weekends and public holidays in spring and summer.
